probably one of God's most tasteful gifts to mankind.
dr. pepper is the official drink of baylor university. there's dr. pepper hours on tuesdays at 3-4 in the student union building, where you get dr. pepper floats... for free! too bad i have class at that time. but really, around campus, there's many a time where there will be dr. pepper stands open, offering free dr. pepper to those wanting. it's quite refreshing to get this chance to experience this. because nothing in life is free and this is the closest to free i can get.
so i went to chapel this morning, expecting some speaker with a somewhat interesting platform with an equally somewhat interesting sermon. instead, i was greeted with piano music accompanied by guitar. lovely music to my ears. and then a video. the words captivated me and i really got into it which is quite surprising due to the hour in the morning. the video described life as breaths. where have i heard that before? "life is not measured by the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away." i used to frown upon this phrase because it was one of those super girly phrases that are plastered on wooden shapes and then put on keg boards in dorm rooms. and i never surpassed that level of girliness. however, the substance i got out of this message was not girly in any way, instead it was enlightening to a maximum. i don't think i can even begin to describe what effect this took on me. i was instantly consumed and engulfed in every word and punctuation. the man in the video challenged us to 'rest' daily. meaning, just to stop and do something that lets your mind catch up with everything else floating around. i guess i saw it as anchoring down into a peace. so in response to this challenge, i have decided to write something i appreciate or value, or something that makes me happy daily. in this blog. so you lucky readers get a glimpse into what happiness is for me. and as i was walking back from chapel with laughter and friends, i received a free dr.pepper. and thus, inspired me to write this. so i hope you avid readers (haha) of my blog will continue to and be inspired yourself :)

dr. pepper: nectar of the gods. haha :P
i really enjoyed reading this post, that one sentence sums up so much about life. sometimes amidst the chaos of everything going on in the world, we just need to set aside some time to just kick back, relax, and put ourselves at peace.
and yes, the best things in life ARE free =]
